I am very happy to work with children and have had many years of experience of doing so.
I became a secondary school teacher back in 2000, working with children aged 11-18 years. I also worked as a teenage mentor for some years. I have, more recently, worked in primary education with ages from 4-11. In this role I worked closely with children with autism and dyslexia and then went onto work as a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). In my various roles working with children I have always had an interest in their emotional wellbeing. Having three children and one step son of my own, I understand from a professional and personal level how important it is to allow children to express themselves or if they feel they cannot try and find ways in which they can. This way they can feel empowered and find the tools in which to learn strategies to cope.
With the increasing level of anxiety, stress and depression along with other mental health issues in children on the rise, I feel that I want to offer my skills and expertise to children to help them find a tool box of Strategies to help them help themselves.
I offer EFT (Tapping) circles for teens and I am really hoping to be able to get into local schools to help children around exam time for SATS, GCSEs and A level, trying to help them feel less stressed and calmer before entering their exams.
