What Are Essential Oils?
If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. Essential oils provide plants with protection against environmental threats and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.
How can you use Essential Oils?
Essential oils are used for a very wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used a single oil at a time or in complex blends in one of three methods:
Certain essential oils, when diffused, can be very stimulating, while others can be calming and soothing. Diffusing essential oils can also cleanse and purify the air of unwanted odours.
Essential oils are easily absorbed by the skin and can be safely applied topically.
Certain essential oils have a rich culinary history and can be used as dietary supplements for targeted wellness.
Essential oils are both exciting and promising when it comes to taking care of your own and your family’s health. Whether you’re applying essential oils topically, enjoying the aromatic benefits through diffusing, or taking essential oils internally, the positive effects of essential oils are boundless.
That’s why you’ll want to ensure that the essential oils you are using are capable of delivering on their promise. You’ll want to make sure that you are choosing essential oils for their potency and their purity. Essential oils I use are CPTG (Certified Pure Theraputic Grade) from doTERRA. These are put through strict testing and as it suggests PURE.
How I use Essential Oils in my home and my business:
I have used oils for the last 19 years. I love how they make me feel both emotionally and physically.
For my own wellbeing I use oils for my emotional state. Oils that will support me throughout the day with my mood, my energy and my focus. I use these for myself, my family and for my clients. I enjoy using oils alongside my coaching work as they can enable clients to reach a deeper level of shifting with the other modalities I use. I often give samples to clients to help them work through issues they are faced with.
I also use oils for my physical health. I have gained knowledge around hormonal health, physical discomfort amongst other physical issues we can be faced with.
For me its simple. I have spent many years really considering what I put on and in my body. I have eliminated many toxins from my life. Unfortunately the essential oil industry is not regulated. I know that doTERRA test every single oil they produce – with 8 different tests before the consumer can buy. If a batch is not 100% pure, it gets discarded. There is so much adulteration in the essential oil world, some of this is from fillers, man made chemicals, other cheaper oils, base oils to stretch the oil further and so on. This tampering can cause an oil to become a neuro toxin rather than a neuro tonic. I want to nurture my body and improve my emotional health, not damage it.
Its the fact that I know which country the oil has been distilled in, where it has been bottled, what tests it has had carried out and that indigenous farmers will have been paid fairly for the farming of the crops. I am totally satisfied that the product I have in my hand and use for my health is exactly what it says on the bottle. I cannot get this guarantee anywhere else. I love that the whole production chain is thought about. doTERRA go further than organic and fair trade. Their ethics align with my own.
